WHY READY FRONT
Separation is an event. Transition is a process.
Military service provides more than a job. It provides structure, responsibility, relationships, routines, identity, and a sense of mission. When service ends, many of those things can change at once. READY FRONT exists to help service members prepare for what comes next, not simply the day they leave the military.
The Problem
Finding a job doesn't answer every question.
Most military transition resources understandably focus on employment, benefits, resumes, and separation requirements. Those things matter. But finding a job does not answer every question that comes with leaving military service.
What will you do?
Where will you live?
How will your finances change?
How does transition affect your family?
Who are you without the uniform?
Where will you find community?
What will give your life purpose and direction?
READY FRONT was built around the belief that these questions belong in the same transition plan.
OUR STORY
Built from experience. Shaped by listening.
READY FRONT started with a problem we had experienced ourselves: leaving the military and being ready for life after it are two different things.
The information is out there. Programs exist. Employers want military talent. Veteran organizations are working every day to help.
But information alone does not create a plan.
As we talked with service members and veterans about their own transitions, we kept hearing versions of the same challenge. The problem wasn't always a lack of information. They needed a better way to turn information into priorities, decisions, and action.
That's why we started READY FRONT.
OUR APPROACH
People succeed because they have systems, not motivation.
Military members understand the value of good systems. Assess the situation. Build a plan. Execute. Measure results. Adapt. READY FRONT applies that same disciplined thinking to life after military service.
Transition doesn't end at Measure. Reassess, adapt, and keep moving forward.
LEADERSHIP
Built by people who understand transition.
READY FRONT combines firsthand military experience, civilian leadership, and a shared belief that service members deserve a better system for what comes next.
Daniel McNamee
President & CEO
I've transitioned between military and civilian life multiple times, and each time taught me something different about what it means to be ready for what comes next. The first time, I had a child on the way and was headed to college. My path was relatively clear. I earned my nursing degree and eventually became a Hospital Administrator and Operating Room Director. But I returned to active duty because I missed something I hadn't fully appreciated until it was gone: the identity, purpose, and sense of mission that came with serving. My next transition happened during a divorce. This time, the decision wasn't primarily about career. I knew I needed to be near my children. I wrote the resumes, went through the interviews, and eventually became a director of nursing. I had successfully found another civilian career, but I ultimately returned to active duty again. The pull of purpose and service was still there. My most recent transition was different again. I was remarried, building a new life with my family, and my priorities had changed. I had already negotiated an opportunity to move into civilian business leadership, but the bigger decision was about stability and being present for my family. After more than 20 years of military and civilian leadership, I've come to believe that we often ask the wrong question about military transition. What are you going to do next? Career matters. But my own transitions taught me that the harder questions are often about who you are, what gives you purpose, where your family fits, what you're willing to sacrifice, and what kind of life you're actually trying to build. That's why I'm building READY FRONT. I want service members to have something I did not: a system that helps them think through the whole transition, not simply complete the requirements to leave the military or find their next job. Because after all of my transitions, one lesson has stayed with me: Separation is an event. Transition is a process.
WHAT WE'RE BUILDING
A system for what comes next.
READY FRONT is building VeteranOS, a technology platform designed to turn a service member's goals, timeline, readiness, and circumstances into a personalized plan for life after military service.
VeteranOS helps members understand where they are, determine what matters, know what to do next, build what they need, and measure progress over time.
